The Green Color is becoming very appealing for the Business World
All those who are decided to combat climate change, in particular leading companies, are welcome. Of course, we know that some large businesses and big brands invoke the protection of our planet as a marketing strategy, But it is true that more and more businesses intent to assume greater social responsibility for their actions. Many large groups across the world such as Apple, Facebook, Nestle, BT and LVMH are acutely aware that they will have to better respond to the environmental, ethical and social challenges. Moreover, the big international companies want to show customers that they are committed to play a leading role in the fight against climate change. So we must recognize that States and governments have not been inactive but the fact is that firms take action faster. In the Automobile industry, Volkswagen, the largest automaker in the world, announced that its next generation of combustion cars would be the last. Under the auspices of the UN, 43 leaders from the fashion sector and retailers announced the launching of the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Change. British Telecom announced a goal for using 100% renewable electricity by 2020. Apple has committed to adopting a 100% circular economy throughout its supply chain. Nestle, the largest food company in the world, has committed to using 100% responsibility sourced palm oil by 2020. And even the international fast-food chains go green! In a nutshell, the majority of the world’s largest companies are well aware that climate change is the greatest challenge facing our planet. They now seem determined to participate fully in this fundamental battle. And that is good news.
